Eames 670 lounge chair and Ottoman

Eames 670 recliner and ottoman, designed by Charles & Ray Eames and manufactured by Herman Miller in the US and by Hille (1959-65) in the UK.

This is a Hille chair, close to original condition with original shock mounts, back straps and back pads. Ottoman and seat have had new leather seats at some stage and the arms pads have also been replaced. All of the replacement leather has been professionally carried out and is wearing in nicely to match the original leather. Similarly the rosewood chair back and seat and the ottoman base have developed a a mellow patina as you would expect from a chair that is 50 years old. A section of the veneer on the ottoman base has been professionally replaced.

The Eames 670 is a design classic, much copied and available new at prices in excess of £6,000 ! This is an opportunity to buy an original piece in solid, condition but showing the signs of vintage use at a very reasonable price.
